Wall Street Survivor is like fantasy football for stocks – it’s a completely free stock investing site that allows you to make and track paper trades. You can even win prizes, but more importantly, it’s a great learning tool without having to put in real money! They also offer tutorials and educational videos.

SmartMoney’s Map of the Market

This is a great free stock market tool app to see where shifts in the market have taken place, specific to both industry and company. There is an option to upgrade as well for a more detailed view.

Chaikin Power Tools

This is a free stock research app for your iPhone that takes the guess work out of stock buying and selling by doing the stock analysis for you. It’s also offered as a desktop widget. Simply search by company and an easy to read screen pops up that tells you whether the stock is bullish (green) or bearish (red.). You can also dig deeper into activity on each company/stock and create a stock watch list. The creator of this app, Marc Chaikin, is a recognized expert on the stock market who also posts timely stock info on Twitter and on his blog.

Investopedia

Everything you ever wanted to know about the stock market in easy to digest articles, videos and forums. This is a great resource to Learn The Stock Market “lingo” so you can trade with the experts.

SeekingAlpha

Once you have the lingo down, SeekingAlpha is chock full of detailed stock analysis and trading advice from the experts. Sections on the site include everything from quick income ideas, to long-term investments.
